Fellow artists and Showings - photos from left to Right
Since the late 1980s, I’ve been fortunate to develop connections with a number of artists, curators, and critics in São Paulo.
The artists, in particular, had a profound influence on me and played a key role in my eventual transition from sculpture to painting. Over the years, these relationships deepened through studio visits, cultural events, and ongoing dialogue. I’ve been honored to be invited to participate in several group exhibitions alongside many of them.
I’ve also maintained meaningful ties with artists back home in Ireland—most notably the painter Brian Maguire. Brian has traveled to Brazil on several occasions to pursue specific projects. Most recently, we exhibited together with Chicago-based artist Robert Heishman at both the Andrea Rheder Gallery in São Paulo and the Triskel Arts Centre in Cork. I have also been fortunate enough to exhibit alongside Sean Scully at the Brazilian British Centre in São Paulo in 2002.
